WHAT IS LOSTSILVER?

Lostsilver is a conversion service for foreign films, public domain films and stock footage and other archived films not restricted for distribution by copyright law in the United States. We serve films to the film enthusiast and work hard to archive and preserve footage you may never find anywhere else! We of course charge a fee for this service so that we may continue to serve to the public.

The section of American copyright law known as "The Berne Act" clearly states: foreign films unreleased in the United States, including original version of films altered and/or edited for release in the United States, are not protected by American copyright; thus, they are considered public domain. We provide a service for serious film collectors, mostly of foreign films never released in the US.

DO WE SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes! AND WE ARE CHEAPER THAN OTHER SERVICES! You may order any DVD to be shipped outside other U.S.A. by clicking on the international add to cart button. But please consult the laws of your country before ordering. Each country has different censorship and copyright laws that we may not be aware of.

What is the difference between DVD and DVD-R?

ALL DVDS ARE IN NTSC REGION 0. DVD stands for Digital Versatile/Video Disc, DVDR stands for DVD Recordable. If you're familiar with regular audio/music CDs or regular DVD-Video discs, then you will know what a recordable DVDR looks like. A recordable DVDR stores up to 2 hours of very good quality DVD-Video, including subtitles, chapter breaks, and extra features that can be played by many standalone DVD Players and most computer DVD-ROMs. We ask that you check the compatibility of your player before buying.

DVD PRINT QUALITY

Please be aware that we are the only source for many titles, and for hard to obtain works (ex. old tv broadcasts) the quality may not be absolutely perfect. There are often glitches in film quality and or the film has not been well preserved. We offer a quality rating of A, B, or C on each DVD page. While different people will disagree upon film quality - we offer a full refund for any DVD if returned with 30 days, minus shipping for international shipments.

CENSORSHIP - VIOLATING CONTENT

While we disagree with Censorship of anything but the worst acts recorded on film, we know that different countries may disagree with U.S. law. Please be aware of your countries censorship laws before ordering. Or if you find anything that is in conflict with U.S. censorship laws on any of the films we distribute please email us with details. We need to know.

RETURN POLICY

You may return your DVDs for a full refund (US orders) for up to 30 days after you receive your order. For shipments outside the US we will refund minus shipping costs. Sorry we can't provide return postage for any order. Thanks!
