1975. With Linda York, John Barnes, Robert Bedford. Of all of the films that sought to ride in the bow wake of the all-conquering The Exorcist [1973], this has just got to be the strangest - and, in a weird sort of way, one of the funniest.
As with all mid-70s porn, Angel Above, Devil Below looks terribly dated now but that just adds to its peculiar charm. Tasteless gags abound [the moment when the Devil is silenced when Randy's pussy is glued together is guaranteed to have the politically correct in apoplexy] and the acting is well down to the standard required for this kind of ultra low budget porn. The result is a relatively harmless bit of silliness that is less pretensious than most post-Exorcist possession movies and which permits the adventurous viewer to amiably pass an hour or so in a suitably brain dead fashion.
