A schoolteacher by day, Rapeman is a character who avenges spurned men by raping the women who rejected them. It is common in these stories that Rapeman’s "repentant prey" falls in love with him. The Rapeman videos are freely available in video shops along with a plethora of other rape fantasies depicting bound and gagged women on their covers. It's full of humor, and has some sex scenes...they are actually rape scenes but they don't play out like rape.

The comic was made to appeal to middle aged Japanese men, for they are some of the biggest consumers of sexual oriented manga, but it wasn't well received and quietly disappeared after 9 issues. Despite this, Pink Pineapple made The Rapeman into a four-film series of "live action" (non-animated) feature films released in the period 1993 - 1994, directed by Takao Nagaishi and proved to be successful.
